Dental Microscopes

Do you find it difficult to have putty impressions of your teeth taken? Patients often complain of scraping of the metal dental tray on their soft tissues and the gag reflex which is commonly triggered by putty squishing out toward the back of the throat and hitting the soft palate. We are pleased to offer our clients relief from the burden of manual impressions with Digital Impressions. This oral scanner digitally scans your teeth in under a minute, and with pinpoint accuracy. These scans can be used in conjunction with our CEREC® system when producing crowns and bridges.

Cone-Bean Computed Tomography

CBCT is an advanced image scanner that scans the entire circumference of the head and relays information about bones and soft tissues. It allows the airspace, sinuses and nasal passages to be viewed in more detail. These scans are often used when planning procedures such as implant installation, or when diagnosing potential concerns. Patients can rest assured that X-ray exposure with digital imaging is significantly less than a traditional X-ray.

The Vivos System®

If you suffer from obstructive sleep apnea, you may have tried a CPAP (Continuous Positive Air Pressure) machine to ease your symptoms of exhaustion. Until recently, surgery and air pressure machines have been considered the only reliable treatment for this disturbing condition, though many struggle to rest comfortably with the necessary mask in place. Now, the Vivos System® offers a permanent solution to obstructive sleep apnea without surgery or masks. The Vivos System® is a customized dental appliance that is worn more than 12 hours per day to place continuous pressure on key points of the dental palate in order to expand its shape over time. By expanding the shape of the palate, tissues are held firmly in place and do not sag over the airway while at rest. This treatment is appropriate for mild to moderate obstructive apnea and requires no long-term use beyond the treatment period.

ProSomnus Sleep Device

Patients who are looking for a nightwear-only solution to their snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. The ProSomnus Sleep Device is made of custom-formed plastic based upon digitally accurate scans of the upper and lower arches. Once in place, the device advances the lower jaw and retains it in position to prevent loose tissues from obstructing the airway. The ProSomnus device provides ample tongue space and requires only 3 millimetres of vertical clearance to insert. Talk to your dentist about whether this device should be part of your OSA treatment plan.
